HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR PORTRAITS AT PIKE PLACE MARKET, POST ALLEY AND THE GUM WALL!
Downtown Seattle is an amazing place full of energy and vibrance. Pike Place Market is a place that combines the rich colors and sounds of a diverse famer’s market with edgy urban backgrounds. The extraordinary character of the market makes this an exciting place for capturing your senior portraits!
Your portrait session starts in front of the market near the Hard Rock Café. We slowly move through the nooks and crannies of the market taking advantage of the classic architecture, historic signage and old-time breezeways. After experiencing the market, we walk to nearby Post Alley. Ragged music posters line one side of the alley leading to the famous Gum Wall. The Gum Wall is situated next to the Market Theater. The tradition of sticking gum on the wall started sometime in 1993 when theater patrons waiting in line began making art out of chewing gum and coins. The theater tried cleaning the wall several times, but eventually gave up after the phenomenon continued. In 1999, the Pike Place Market declared the Gum Wall a tourist attraction. Today, the Gum Wall has risen to celebrity-like status with tourists and locals crowding around to see it. The multicolored chewing gum against the brick makes this a memorable place for senior portraits.
Even though the the market and Post Alley are urban and somewhat eclectic, rest assured that you will come away with 100s of beautiful images – both traditional and unique!
